	PROGRAM (59:01) Cokie Roberts has made her mark, as a political commentator and co-host of This Week with Sam Donaldson at ABC News, and as a senior news analyst for National Public Radio. With her husband, Steve Roberts, she writes a weekly syndicated column for United Media, which appears in newspapers around the country. She is also the best-selling author of several books, the latest of which depicts the influence of women during Revolutionary times. In Founding Mothers: The Women Who Raised Our Nation (HarperCollins), Roberts brings to life - through their diaries and correspondence - the trials and triumphs of such historic figures as Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, and Dolley Madison, and the less-known Catherine Littlefield Greene and Deborah Read Franklin. Roberts hails them for their strength and sensitivity and for their contributions to the establishment of our nation. Walter Issacson, president of the Aspen Institute, interviews Roberts about her career and her book. This program was recorded in May 2004, at the Smithsonian Institution.
