Confronting Authority: Reflections of an Ardent Protester
INTRODerrick Bell is a leading scholar of the law and currently a visiting professor at New York University law school. His career began in the Department of Justice after which he became a civil rights administrator, and eventually a tenured law professor at Harvard University. He has written several books, including the well-received best-seller Faces from the Bottom of the Well.
In an interview with news broadcaster and commentator Derek McGinty, Mr. Bell discusses his 1990 decision to protest the absence of tenured women of color from Harvard's Law School faculty, a struggle that was documented in his book Confronting Authority: Reflections of an Ardent Professor.
