Delightful and deliciously funny, Betty White has had an amazing career. It has extended from the early days in radio and the very first days of live television programming, into the era of TV variety- and game-shows, and continues through today's network television series.

Betty White earned the first of her five Emmy awards in 1952 for Life with Elizabeth, an early syndicated television series that she produced and in which she starred.

Many of us remember her portrayal of Sue Anne Nivens, the man-hungry television hostess on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Playing that role from 1973 to 1977, she earned two more Emmy awards. She picked up her fourth Emmy in 1983 for hosting the daytime NBC game-show, Just Men!

And then there is Rose... Rose of The Golden Girls. With this truly unforgettable character, Ms. White earned her fifth Emmy award.

Despite her busy television schedule, she is the author of four books, including Betty White in Person and her latest work, Here We Go Again: My Life in Television.

On this audio program, Betty White shares tales from the early days of live television and from her many TV series.

This program was recorded September 7, 1995 at the Smithsonian Institution.
